Introduction to Astrology

Learning astrology can be one of the most rewarding life experiences an individual can have. Understanding yourself and others through astrology opens a world of knowledge and experience that deeply enriches and develops an individual. This first course offers a beginning understanding of an individual birth chart and life. Included is an in-depth discussion of the signs, their natural divisions, and an introduction to the houses and planets. Students will use their own chart as a basis of learning.
Understanding the Planets

This class offers a complete understanding of the planets and how their energies are relective of forces that impact on our lives. Included are planetary dignities, the differences between inner and outer planets, meaning behind the planetary glyphs, retrograde planets, the nodes, eclipses, the chart ruler, angular planets, mutual receptions, and dispositors, as well as other planetary applications in interpreting a chart. This class is intended to help give the student a thorough grasp of the astrological planetary symbolism. Students will use their own charts to aid in understanding the planets.

This class is designed to be fun, challenging, and rewarding with an emphasis on encouraging the student to utilize their knowledge of astrology, and exercise their intuition through interpreting the natal chart. This class is designed for students who have successfully completed Introduction to Astrology and Understanding the Houses, or individuals who have engaged in self study and wish to expand their knowledge and practice unifying the elements
of a chart into a basic comprehensive reading.

primary focus will be on the two candidates Democrat Virg Bernero and
Republican Rick Synder as well as other charts that are significant for this election. Come and join in the discussion on what the planets are saying.

Part I: Description of the origins of the nodes in the cosmos, zodiacal soul portals and eclipses. This includes information about the cosmos and transmigration of souls from ancient writers Plato and Virgil, followed with a structural model of the cosmos and how the Nodes function in it. Zodiacal portals for soul entry or departure are described, as are the importance of eclipses.
(class will break for 15 minutes before resuming.)
Part II: Interpreting Nodes in the natal chart (sample charts from musicians accompanied with selected music), including delineation of conjunctions, aspects, and configurations. Planetary Nodes. Searching the Draconic chart for life themes. Predicting with eclipses.
Elizabeth Hazel is an astrologer, taroist, and mystic scholar. She is the author of Tarot Decoded (Weiser), and author/artist of The Whispering Tarot and accompanying book subtitled Softly Spoken Secrets. Liz is the editor of the American Tarot Association's Quarterly Journal, and long time author of the Stars and Cards column. Other regular columns include "Third Rock Almanac" (weekly newspaper horoscope and tarotgram), and "Astro-Spell" (quarterly column for newWitch magazine). Liz has lectured throughout the United States, and was one of four Americans invited to lecture at the 2008 TABI conference in the UK. Harmonics

This three hour workshop will serve as an introduction to Age Harmonics, and include illustration with example charts, rules for calculation if software is not available, guidelines for interpretation, and recommendations for further self-study. Harmonic charts have been used in astrological prediction since ancient times. A modern version, made accessible by software is Age Harmonic. This is a chart calculated for a given moment in the subject's life by recalculating the natal chart in a harmonic derived from the person's exact age at the time (in years plus the elapsed fraction the the year), and using the age of a person, organization, nation, a city, or an enterprise to elicit information concerning the future of that entity. Other valuable uses beyond prediction include rectification, delineation of defining moments in the lives of people. Mastery of this revolutionary way of applying harmonics to a horoscope will add a new dimension to the astrologer's experience and understanding.
